DREW KEMP RACING #118

Drew Kemp first rode a speedway bike in October 2015 at the age of 13 following 5 years riding motocross. He became 500cc British Youth Speedway Champion in August 2017, the same month he turned 15 and eligible for his first taste of league racing. He won his first ever league race and scored a magnificent 16 points in his final meeting of the 2017 season meeting him up for his first full league season in 2018. Drew took the National League by storm in 2018 scoring an impressive 15 point maximum in his first match of the season for Mildenhall Tigers. He continued to produce impressive performances through the 2018 season and when he reached the age of 16 he realised a childhood dream to ride for his hometown club Ipswich Witches in the higher Championship league. In just his third meeting for the Witches, he scored a remarkable 14 points at Scunthorpe. His debut season was documented in the book “Diary of a Speedway Kid” his first collaboration with Barry Cross and available in the shop on this site.

In 2019, Drew signed for Sheffield Tigers in the Championship and Kent Kings in the National League. He scored 14 in his opening match for the Tigers and after just 3 meetings at the reserve berth he moved up to the number 2 position. It was tough position to score freely but Drew still managed to double his starting average with the Tigers.

Drew had some amazing achievements in 2019. In July he was given the honour of representing Great Britain in the Under-21 World Team Final where he was a silver medallist with Team GB. August 2019 was an exciting month for Drew, he travelled to Europe where he won the European Under-19 Speedway Cup semi-final in Güstrow with a magnificent 15 point maximum. Two days later he celebrated his 17th birthday competing in the final of the competition in Zarnovia where he came 7th. His finest achievement to date came later that week when he won the British Under-19 Championship at Redcar with a 15 point maximum.

Drew is dedicated to his chosen sport and well aware of the need to be professional in all aspects of Speedway, both on and off the track - hence the introduction of shoponeoneeight to enable him to sell merchandise direct to his fans.
